Budokan Judo Club of Miami, Florida is a non-for-profit organization which teaches pupils the martial art of self-defense and discipline. Budokan Judo Club was established in 1990 by Sensei & President Mr. Evelio Garcia.
The Sport of Judo was founded in 1882 by Dr. Jigoro Kano. Judo is a refinement of the ancient martial art of Jujitsu. Dr. Kano, President of the University of Education, Tokyo, studied these ancient forms and integrated what he considered to be the best of their techniques into what is now the modern sport of Judo. Judo has become an Olympic sport and as seen by a means of staying fit, an art form or just a fun sport.
